Ayyappa is considered “Kaliyugavaradan” or the Lord of the Kali Yuga (Modern times). He symbolizes the perfection of Yogic life, as denoted in his posture the yogapattasam and Chinmudra. TATWAMASI that is written in Sabarimala Temple reminds you the purpose of life is to Unite with the DIVINITY in you. But for that to happen, your body, mind and energies need to be tuned. The story of Shiva and Vishnu uniting to form Ayyappa only represents the Female Energy /Ida (represented by Mohini) and the Male energy/ Pingala (represented by Shiva) coming together and being energized, to reach higher capabilities with Sadhana.
