Temples are not prayer halls and we should not go to the temple to ask for something. The temple is a consecrated energy center, which connects you to the Divinity within yourself. The atmosphere in the temple is maintained in such a way that it stimulates your energy system and enables your Prana to move upwards to higher chakras. That is why you are advised to spend some time in the temple when you visit. Even though there is air everywhere, you feel it particularly well under a fan. Similarly, a temple makes you aware of the all pervading Divine energy and more importantly the presence in yourself. Hari Om.
