Pranamam Swamiji, my younger sister who was 21 years old passed away in January. She had gone on scooter without helmet, fell from scooter. My sister got fits and had internal injuries. Initial 5 days there were improvements, but doctors were not giving complete positive feedback. After shifting to the ward she got fits and she was not able to breathe. She was on ventilator and after 3 days there was no hope, and she passed away on january 5th. My parents are having hard time. When she was in ICU we had done all the prayers and all the offerings to temples and consulted astrologers. Astrologers told that my sister will be fine. She will come back to normal life. Also my mother frequently meets astrologer, 3 months back when she had met astrologer he had said my sister has long life. My sister was academically very strong and she was a very nice girl. My question is why astrologer told like that. Is it true that death can come in anyway if my sister had not met with accident that day would she would have survived ?Swamiji please help me with these answers

I understand the pain that you and your parents are going through. When we lose a dear one, we always look for a closure of our emotions. We have so many questions on why, could something have been different, what did we not do right etc. This is very usual in any family that loses a dear one. Everyone takes birth on this earth as determined by a certain amount of his karma called prarabdhakarma. Once that is lived off and completed, we will leave the world, or in other words the present body needs to be discarded, for the soul to continue its onward journey to the Paramatma. No one, neither doctors nor astrologers, can correctly predict this. It is only our wanting some certainty in an uncertain life, that forces us to go to astrologers to know the future. In fact, what we need is the ability to face life as it comes and be comfortable with the uncertainties of life. That only comes with regular namajapam and being with the Divine at heart. That is what all of you as a family should do now. The emotional closure of this death will come fast to you. My prayers are with you, may the soul reach Paramatma. Hari Om.
