Respected swamiji, am here to seek an advice for my personal life. I have been in love with a person from my school time. Now it’s been 12 years and still there is no change. We hardly met after school and we never had a constant contact these years due to the thought that it can seperate us. But the love we had never changed and now we both are 26. He is now in canada working as an engineer. He is ready to marry me and even took the permission of his parents and came to ask my hand from my parents. We belong to different caste. My parents are telling me that they are not intrested because we belong to different caste. They want me to get married from same caste. They thibk that getting me married to someone from other caste will degrade their social status. If i marry aganist my parents it will be a cheating towards them. But if i do marry according to their wish am doing bad with the one who loving me for the past 10 years. He told me that he loves me and i can took any decision that he won’t underestimate me. Because he has a sister and can understand if she marry aganist their wish. I wanted to marry him along with the blessing of my parents. I know that you can’t do anything over this. But still give me some advice to find a right solution. If it goes like this am going to be in depression. Atleast please give me some inspirational words.

Our lives are all interconnected in a cosmic web. You have your parents who gave you life and you have a man who loves you and is willing to respect any decision you take. Why don’t you have him and his parents meet and talk with your family without any commitment in a neutral environment. Let your parents get to know them as people, know their qualities without defining them through the “caste stereotype”. A lot of misunderstandings go away when people see and talk to each other. Write back to me after such a meeting. Things will fall in place. Hari Om.
