When you say mind ( manassu) do you mean the soul? Is God (Eeswara) who is inside us the Jeevathma or our soul? I get confused by the relation between the two concepts . Kindly guide me

Dear Girija,
The mind is a bundle of various thoughts constituted with three GUNAS (Sathwik, Rajasik, Thamasik).
When you are lazy, your mind is dominated with Thamo Guna; when it is agitated it is Rajasik; when it is peaceful it is Sathwik.
All these different thoughts exist in the mind because of Chaithanyam.
In other way, Chaithanyam unites the Sookshma and Sthoola Shariram ( Mind and Body).
For eg., in deep sleep your mind is not functioning. But, it is still united with your body because of Chaithanyam!
