Essence and Determinism are terms fundamentally beloved to the Western Philosophers. It is an attempt to absolve someone from the responsibility of the happenings in his/her life. But Hinduism strongly believes in Karma. No one has sent you here. You chose to come here by the nature of your Karmic burden. However, there is definitely a purpose for each one coming. That is to improve the Self and travel towards the Divine. That process only involves self purification at each step. Hari Om.
