swamaji, i fell in love with a guy at 17 and now im 21 hes 22. My mother wants me to get married but not to him. I love my mother but she doesnt want me to get married to this guy because he does not have as much money as us. How is that fair? Money is not the only thing to be considered. I have a good and well paying job. Im very sure i can support . If i have no choice then i will have to marry him without my family which will be very sad. So what should i do?

Your letter gives me an impression that you are committed in your relation and have decided to proceed with it, with or without the support of your mother. While I respect your decision, I would also caution you on your Mother concerns. You may feel you earn well and can support him now, but as your needs grow, both of you will need to assume bigger responsibilities. Be sure he will rise to the occasion and put in more effort to bring home his share. Or, after some time you will be a burnt out wife and you will hate yourself for marrying a man who does not earn enough. Talk to him openly before marriage. Hari Om.
