Dear Swamiji, NamaskaramsInspite of Panadavas being righteous, meritorious, powerful etc…they faced many injustices & suffering. 1) Why did the pandavas have to undergo such hardships? What was the sin they had committed? 2) Could the pandavas have done something different earlier to avoid the Kurukshetra war? Hari Om!

Righteous and meritorious people have a responsibility to curtail injustice and unrighteousness. Every war begins as a difference of opinion. When ego rises with it, we get attached to it, and it becomes our problem. If we don’t try for a settlement it becomes a crisis and eventually a war and tragedy. Pandavas despite being powerful watched and allowed injustice to happen through these several levels until it became a war. The same thing can seen in today’s world. The meritorious and righteous people keep quiet against terrorism or quiet against atrocities done to nature. Unless we collectively stand up and stop it before it becomes a crisis, a war is bound to happen and we will all ultimately be victims of the tragedy. Hari Om
