The combination of energies from Siva and Vishnu at the end of Palazhi Madhanam, is called Sastha or Ayyappa (Ayyan+Appan). On a yogic level it just denotes the merging of our male and female energies to attain higher consciousness. Manikanta, the Prince of Pandalam merged with the Sastha idol at Sabarimala at the end of his life’s purpose. Hari Om.
