There has been too much of a hype on positive thinking since the 1960s, but it is funny to know many of the big proponents of this philosophy ended in prison or asylums. So it is important to live with the realization that positive and negative are both part of life. There is no need to completely eliminate all negativity. However, it is important to deal with it, without affecting your wellbeing and using it for your growth. For that, we need to understand why someone behaves negatively and what their underlying need is. If you can provide that need without focusing on their negative behaviors, the reactions will become positive. Quite often we deal with negativity with more negativity and create a vicious cycle. Then hatred, guilt, jealousy etc. are added. So, every time a person is negative, ignore the behavior, but understand what they need from you. Provide that and everything will be well. Hari Om.
