why it is forbidden to visit holy places during menstrual period?

Dear Lakshmi,
There are many reasons.
When you visit Holy places, you need to take holy dips in the river or temple ponds – it is not hygienic and advisable during this time, right?
Women’s body temperature rises during this time; so our ancestors found it desirable to exempt them from many duties and rituals!
We can’t find reasons for their wise decisions always!
