Namaste swamiji I am often confused with these two terms, ‘if it is meant to be, it will be’’ and ‘if you want it, go and get it’’. I think in geetha bhagwan also said something similar, if you don’t work for what you want, don’t cry when you loose it .and there is something like , if you are destined you will deserve it. In one of your talk I heard you saying, the education, job and one’s wealth, everything one enjoys depending on the way ones previous karma. so how can we connect those two.

Karma definitely plays a role in what your life turns out to be. The people you meet, the places you are at, the situations you face etc. are not determined by you, but play vital roles in deciding what your life becomes. On the other hand, despite being in the best situation or with the right people, if you don’t play your part well, you will not achieve anything worthy or as per your wish. That is why it is said you and God do 50-50. This is clearly described in the closing verse of the Gita as well. Only when “Yogeswara Krishna” and “Dhanurdhara Partha” come together does prosperity and success happen. Put your best efforts in, but do it in a constant remembrance of Bhagavan, with the understanding that everything you do, is an opportunity to contribute to the Divine cause. Hari Om.
