Sometimes it will harm me. My intention will be good but others don’t understand. Also, in many cases I will say true things to people instead of lie but this will also reflect on me, later on I realize that if I would have said a lie the matter would have been solved. How should we handle these situations?

Tact and wisdom are the two pillars of maturity. You should have the wisdom to stay away from things that you should not involve in. Even with the best intentions, if you give your opinions in places where it is not needed, you are bound to suffer. That is why you are always advised to “think before you act”. Even when you are forced to involve, you have to learn to talk without hurting others. It is not a matter of saying the truth or lie….it is about knowing how well you can say “unpleasant truths”. Truths are not always nice to hear, but when said appropriately they will be better received. Now, if you don’t know how to say it in a way that the other person won’t be hurt, it is better to keep quiet. Because you don’t say something to someone right away, nothing will happen !!! So what you need is just self control. Try practicing silence for a few days. That is the best way to overcome your impulsive behavior. Hari Om.
