Dear Rama Kurup,
Astrology is the science of planets.
Each planet exerts its influence on earth by its gravitational force and thus affects the great and small events of our life, directly or indirectly.
But, understand that this whole Universe is nothing but a manifestation of an Eternal Energy, the Master, whom we call GOD.
So, the best way to overcome the obstacles is to surrender to the Master of the Universe. When you surrender completely to HIM, no harm caused by anyone can really affect you.
Trying to influence planets without surrendering to the Master is not wise.
(Please recall the example in Bhagavathamrutham, of a stranger entering a house where a master lives with the dogs, namely the planets. The guest can not escape from the clutches of the dogs without the Master’s help).
