Pranam Swamiji. l would like to know after death atma will release from our body. lt will reach another body. Atma has previous vasanas also . First thing to know is we did not have “previous atmas”. Though we change the physical body in each birth, the atma continues it journey from one birth to another as directed by our vasanas. Tharpanam is only the prayer of the family members for the athma to get a suitable birth/ body/ environment which will help purify its vasanas and reach the perfect state of Divine consciousness. Whether the family does tharpanam or not, the Atma will continue its journey as directed by the vasanas we accumulated over several births. Hari Om.
