When we say there is pralayam(preharshena layam) at the end of each yugam it only means return to the source, not necessarily a flood or natural calamity. This return to the source is happening every day and at the end of a chatur yugam there will be complete recycling in a shorter time. Natural calamities happen time and again because man has not learned to protect/respect nature. If we are not careful, they may destroy our lives even before the end of the yugam. Hari Om.
