You are talking about a simple problem called duality of the mind. It is in fact a good quality, if you know how to use it properly. In any situation, your analytical mind should be able to give you the pros and cons. You have to consider both aspects of the situation. In the next step, having weighed the good and the bad, you have to employ your budhi to make the right decision. Always stick with what your budhi says. Now to have clarity in thoughts and budhi, you need to do sadhanas, chanting, meditation etc. Then an unwavering mind will be yours. Hari Om.
