Namaskaram Swamiji, I have a question on Mahaprasthanika Parva. It is said that only Yudhishtira walked all the way to Swarga while all other Pandavas and Draupadi had fallen on the way due to their egos. But Arjuna received Bhagvad Gita knowledge from Sri Krishna, then why did he still had the ego ?

Bhagavad Gita was Bhagavan’s word to the inquisitive mind on the truths and paths of life. However at the end of it he gives the choice on what to do to the devotee himself. Arjuna in the battlefield represents a surrendered mind that was blessed to receive the support it vitally needed then. Often people have the knowledge but are too caught up in their own self importance as we constantly see in Arjuna in Kurukshetra. In the final journey of life all karmas you accrued decide how efficiently you reach the Final destination (merging with the infinite consciousness) / higher plane of consciousness, as denoted by Swarga. Yudhishtra had led the most aware/ dharmic life than any of his brothers and hence reached the highest evolution. Hari Om.
