സ്വാമിജി, നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ വിവാഹപൂർവ /ഇതര ബന്ധങ്ങൾ കൂടി വരുന്ന ഒന്നായിട്ടു പലരും പറയുന്നു. കൂടാതെ തെറ്റായ ഒരു കാര്യം ആയിട്ടും ആണ് സമൂഹം ഇത് കാണുന്നത്. എന്ത് കൊണ്ടാണ് സ്വാമിജി ആളുകൾ ഇവയൊക്കെ പാപം ആണെന്നും, അവയെ ഈശ്വരീയമായിട് ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചും സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു? ഇവയൊക്കെ മനുഷ്യന്റെ ജൈവികമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾ അല്ലെ, അതുപോലെ പരിശുദ്ധി പോലെയുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങൾക് ഈ കാലത്തു എന്താണ് പ്രസക്തി.

Though man has a lot of animal traits in him biologically, nature has also blessed him with what is called “Discriminative intelligence”(vivechana budhi). Only the human child needs to be cared and protected till age 18. So a stable family and social structure is needed to raise our offsprings well. You are right that our value systems are changing as the society progresses. Still our culture has survived so many millennia due to our commitment to the institution called FAMILY. Monogamy and commitment in intimate relations/marriage was always upheld as DHARMA (That which holds) in our scriptures. If we disrupt that, the society is bound to suffer. There are several stories in our scriptures to highlight the point that the wife “belongs” to her husband and vice versa. It is important that our youngsters grow up with this understanding. Hari Om.
