Pranamam Swamiji, I am 27 now, married an year ago. My mom passed away an year ago immediately after my wedding. My dad too passed away when was too young. None from my family is bothered about me. From the day I got married, I see that problems arise one after the other. I dont find peace at all. Since I cant even share it with anyone, I feel depressed very much these days. My mom was a true follower of you, hence am also in the same pathway. Can you please guide me how to handle my in-laws who are very cunning ang harsh towards me? I see that even my husband doesnt understand me these days( as we know, blood is thicker than water).

We all live in dependence and support. When u are young you expect it from parents, friends, then spouses, then children and so on……This sense of “ asrayam”, will invariably hurt because that is the nature of the human mind. As it gets closer to something the bar of expectations rise. There are two ways to deal with this. Move the base of your asrayam to the infinite power within you. Chant Narayana 108 times daily. Learn to give without demands. Instead of expecting your spouse or in-laws to understand you, try to understand the frame from which they are involving in your life. See what they truly expect from you. Try to give that without demanding anything in return. This should be done with a sense of boldness, not feeling exploited. Then the dependence will be theirs. Just relax. The world will be yours if you can embrace it. Hari Om.
