You are absolutely right. You should not go to Sabarimala or any other Temple to “call the deity”. The purpose of temple visit for a Hindu unlike Semitic religions is “not to pray”. The word vigraha means “ viseshena grahayathi” meaning vigraha is that which gives you the wisdom that Supreme Intelligence is inside you. We go for darshan of the deity to anchor this awareness within us. Once you know that, you have to do Sadhana to raise your thinking and living to tap into your infinite potentialities. Then you and Bhagavan become one…..TATWAMASI. Hari Om.
