Respected swamiji I lost my mother last year. She was the only support I had when I was going to through so many stuggles in my life. Last few years one by one different tragedies are happening in my life. When I try to stand up from one depression next comes! I live abroad. This year I am supposed to go back for first sradham. I won’t be able to make it. More than physically mentally I am not in a position to make this trip. What can I do from abroad from my mother. How to answer others I won’t be able to make it? If my mother was alive she should have understood my situation. Please suggest me some solution.

There is no need to worry about not being able to go as long as you know why. You can always perform the last rites with the help of a Hindu priest in any part of the world now. Your prayers and remembrance of your mother and her contributions to your life is the biggest “sradham”. Please note sradham means a rite performed with sincerity and devotion. If you have both, how or where you perform the rites is not important. Hari Om.
