Dear Swamiji, We are doing Ganapathy homam, Mruthyajaya homam, Sudarsana homam etc.. in the temple. We give a list of family members with their stars for doing the homam. Just like some other 10 family also book the pooja on the same day. Means 5 family members x 10 families, total 50 members name and star name he has to chant for the homam. For eg; for mruthyanja homam mantra for homam is big starting with “Urvaruka bandanal” instead they chant only “jum swa swaha” that too not looking the list of family members name and star. Will we get any effect on these poojas especially a third person doing pooja on our behalf. . Pls advs.

When any Homam or Puja is done it is important that we identify with the purpose for which it is performed. And our mind has to absorb the benefits of the mantra chanted. Whether it is done for one or a thousand, each individual will benefit as long as he makes himself available to receive it. We belong to a Dharma that prayed “Loka samastha Sukhino bhavanthu”. Always keep in mind this Universal thought is what takes us even above death. Hari Om.
