Bhagavan himself has said in Gita, whatever you offer to other deities comes to me, as I am all pervading. The cosmic forces are all derived from the Supreme and will return to HIM. We as humans attribute our limited thoughts to the Supreme, dividing and categorizing while HE is Omnipresent and the source of everything else. Now, at the level of the deity we should realize, once Pranapratishta is done, the deity is a living entity with a body derived from panchabhootas and Prana given to the deity by the Thantri. So those forces are essential in sustaining the deity. Hari Om.
