I wish to know why do is Linga of shiva worshiped. What is the logic behind worshipping reproductive organ in hindu mythology
Posted by Rajesh on May 22, 2010
Dear Rajesh,
It has nothing to do with a body organ.
Lingam means a sign in Sanskrit; not a body organ.
As other forms of deities, Shiva does not have a human form.
This means, Shiva is not a person; HE is the personification of EVERY THING.
The geometrical shape of Shiva Linga is the most powerful shape that can store, maintain and generate energy.
(That is why, nuclear stations have this shape).
JEEVO SHIVA!
When you go and take Pradakshin in Shiva temple your mind will get tuned into that spiritual energy.
