I am doing research in neuroscience at Freiburg,Germany. I had a hectic life, spending most of my time in the lab. later I started feeling depressed and developed stress disorders. Then my mother advised me to chant vishnu sahasranama, which really helped me get an inner strength. After that a curiosity developed within me to know more about bhagavat gita and other Indian epics. so in the begining I started with bhagavat gita which really helped me to solve many of my questions. but as a neuroscientist I am not able to convince some of my german colleagues regarding the connection between the mind and soul. Swamiji…..could you please help me

Dear Chakrapani,
What you do with the Lab is an objective research.
Your mind is trying to understand something else; but spirituality is a subjective research and experience.
Subject is the Consciousness in which our thoughts come and go.
We are constantly conscious of whatever comes in our mind.
Spirituality is diverting our attention from the object to the subject; that is, Consciousness.
The infinite Consciousness is called by different names (Vishnu, Krishna, Rama etc).
The more you have learned the mind associated with the Self through meditation, you develop
inner strength. Also, you can easily involve in whatever you do and divert your mind from Past to the Present.
(When you are at home, you will be an entertaining house holder and in the office youwill be an enterprising officer).
Now, understand, mind is the first manifestation of the Self (Consciousness) and body is created by the mind.
