Great men have told that by dipping your body in Holy rivers like Ganga you will be free of your past karmas .What is Swamiji’s view on that? With pranams Bhagavathy

Dear Bhagavathy,
The real meaning of Ganges is the continuous flow of Jnanam or Knowledge.
The source of Ganga is Shiva. From HIS head it falls onto the Earth.
So, Ganga means mind and Shiva is Consciousness or Sath. From Sath, mind falls into Earth or Asath. That means the mind is able to constantly flow into the materialistic and destructive world (Asath).
If you are able to live with this conviction your mind will be free from the disturbing thoughts of the Past and it can involve in the world as well as God (your true Self or Shiva or Consciousness in you).
Hari Om!
