Hari Ohm. I appreciate and congratulate your plan to read Ramayanam in the house of your members. However everyone should understand why we recite Ramayana.We Hindus blindly think that chanting Ramayanam is  to please Rama.In fact reciting Ramayanam is for rejuvenating or energizing our mind from all our negative feelings to positive confidence.When we recite  Ramayanam the sound waves of devotional poem passes through our mind and body. Like we recharge our cell phone ,Ramayanam recharge our mind and body. When mind gathers or accumulate positive thoughts ,such mind is able to conquer all our negative impulses ,like kama,krodha, etc.They are the rakshasas and the ego holding the emotions is the Ravana. As Rama killed Ravana with Rama mind (positive thoughts) each one has to kill the negative ego and impulses (Ravana & Rakshasa). Hence one should recite yuddakandham too at our home and other places. There are a few blind beliefs in our community who engage in negative propaganda without kno0wing the real meaning of scriptures. It is not mentioned in Ramayana that we should not read this or that.
