If one dies,people usually says’we can prey for santhi to his atma’. My question is -atma is always santhi.Then what is the need for to prey santhi to his atma ?And also atma is everywhere.Then how we can say his atma?

You are absolutely right.
Atma is the infinite/stable conscious energy.
The mind if finite thought energy.
Finite can’t give santhi to the full/perfect Athma.
Then for the purpose of “vyvaharam” we pray.
