Radhekrishna swami. I’m a Sri Vaishnavite. I’ve learnt the mahatmyams of tulasi mala. my doubt is, in gaudya vaishnava sampradaya they tell us not to remove the tulasi mala at any time even though it’s a dirty place like toilet referring few verses from holy texts. but in sri Vaishnavite sampradaya we are said not to wear tulsi mala in dirty place but I don’t know any particular verse mentioning this. could you please tell me what are ur views on it swamy??

Hari Ohm. The real purpose of Thulasimala is to purify our own mind through constant chanting of Lord’s name. However our mind carries all the doubts .Negative thoughts create fear in the mind regarding purity and impurity . Purity and impurity are the parts of same substance .It is not that the toilet is impure and stomach is pure. There are as much dead cells as living cells too like the filth we content we carry all the time. Let the body and surroundings be impure ,you should not pollute your mind by ignoring Lord’s name. You can only purify your mind. Lord is always with the people who engage their mind mind in Lord’s name but not with the people who worry about purity and impurity of the surroundings
