Pranam Swamiji, As per garuda purana, the soul has to travel many difficult situations such as cross vaidarani river which is full of poisons creatures etc etc..my doubt is sthoola sareera is burnt and sooshma sareera (soul) has no roopa, smell or color and cannot be destroyed by water, fire, wind with knife etc…then how can we say the soul travels difficult situations (which is beyond all ) before reaching pithru loka ? pl advs.

Hari Ohm. It seems that you are confused with the word soul. You may understand that soul means your conscious thoughts . In other words, your imagination born out of your vasanas.the journey of soul is similar to the dreams where your body is still but your mind travels according to its desires. Only when you wake up from the dream you realise that it was just a dream. However can you deny the pain or struggles you experienced in the dream ? The souls of those who had more attachment and desire towards worldly pleasures will have experiences similar to the dreams.
