Pranam Swamiji, I am writing this for my sister, My sister has finished Nursing and has been working for 2 years. Meanwhile she got married and She is staying at home since 1.5 years. It is because her husband and his family likes her to stay at home looking after the family. But she wishes to work and stay on her own feet. She asks me (brother) about this and I am really confused and unable to advice. Since I am a daily listener of your gita classes , I m thinking that she is looking “her happiness , Her likes , (Her swaarthatha) etc..and you use to say ” Give priority to others happiness than self happiness”.. All these comes to my mind. Also , If i advice her to work against husband and family wishes, Im thinking of her family life will get spoiled. Im in confused state swamiji. Please respond and guide me to advice her.

Hari Ohm.Doing job is a positive act and capable persons should undertake that responsibility. but if the girl can not handle job and family together ,it will be an issue. The girl and her husband’s family should have open discussions and understand why they are not allowing . An open discussion will lead to solutions ,the family will yield to the girl’s wish. If we impose a decision family will isolate her.
