pranaams.. Heard there are 16 lakh varieties of janthus ( animals ) , 4 lakh varieties of plants etc.. Now may I know how many Janmams are destined for a being in Dharma Sasthram? Also heard each one will have their own no. births for purification. I am asking , apart from this, in normal course how many janmams is referred to in Hinduism? sreeja

Dear Sreeja,
If a person utilizes the opportunity which Lord has given to us – that is, remembrance of the Lord, feeling that all events are the Prasadam of the Lord and ultimately experincing God through meditation – such a person doesn’t have to take any more births.
The one who neglects and misuses the mind, will have to come back again and again till they reach the Supreme Truth.
