Hari Om! I happened to attend the Art Of Living Course (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar). It looked like our instructor had memorised certain points from the lectures given by Sri Sri. She basically could not explain what actually is the meaning of Kriya Yoga that they taught. Can you please tell me what is Manas? Is it that when the mind is with the bodily experience it is Jeevathma and when the mind is with godly experience it is Paramathma? Hari Om Swamiji

Dear Sharada,
Manas or mind is the “Sookshma Shareeram” or subtle body and the physical body is the “Sthoola Shareeram” or gross body.
Mind functions in four ways as Manas(thoughts), Budhi(intellect), Chitham(memory), and Ahamkaram(ego).
When you are in the Mind-Body identification, it is Jeevathma and when you are totally beyond this limited identification, you are ONE with the Supreme Lord (Paramathma).
Self realization is the end of all illusions and realizing that there is only ONE!
Till then all dualities exist!
Please read Poojya Ravishankarji’s books; you will get guidance on all these topics.
