Dear Swamiji, I wanted to ask a question about the 4 kinds of people who seek things from God, Aarthan, Artharthi, Jignasu and Gyani. In ones prayers then is it not necessary to ask for things like happiness and instead to learn to understand that you don’t need to pray for it as god is always around and would bless you with happiness and strength anyway? Dear Mandy,
These are the various stages of devotion that a devotee passes through!
One needs to be at least in the first phase to start with.
Then as his maturity level increases, he will become a Jnani ultimately!
Bhagavan says that the only Bhavam one should not have towards HIM is Upeksha (indifference).
Unfortunately, most people get stuck up in the first phase and never grows or uplifts their minds through Sadhana!
