Respected Swamiji, In case of our near relatives death there is ‘pela’ for those under mother’s relation and not for father’s relation. Could you please clarify this?

Dear Smita,
The pela which you told are the customs followed by our ancestors.
Among the total population of the universe 0.5 percent people follows such foolishness blindly.
As a woman you must discard observing three days rest during your period time.
If you can discard those customs, why can’t we discard all such pelas?
