Dear Vidya,
Seeing is not being. It is only an external perception.
God is conscious energy who unites the subtle body with gross body (mind is united with your body).
As the battery in the torch produces light and shows all the external objects except the the battery, the conscious energy(battery) shows the external world to you.
God is to be understood and experienced (Geeta – chapter 11, sloka 54).
