Hari Om, I have been chanting the sahasranamas, narayeenayam and devi mahatyam for the past few years. But recently i have stopped reading all of these as i do not understand a word of it. I believe i should be chanting them only if i understand them. Now i am chanting only the basic mantras( narayana, namsivaya, hare rama hare krishna etc). I am confused as to what is the ideal way. Please guide me. Priya

Hari Om
Dear Priya, it is not the Mantra, but the feeling of the mind that takes you into the reality.
All the Mantras are the different names of your inner self.
As it is said all roads leads to Rome, similarly all Mantras lead to uniting your mind with your own Self, that is the real God.
So continue vishnu Sahasranamam and all other mantras you have been chanting.
