GOD is so called as Generator, Operator and Destroyer.
Understand, God is the Space that envelops and includes every thing.
We pray initially to receive help and as we mature, we pray to offer gratitude. Finally our prayer turns into expression of deep devotion.
Different forms of God satisfy different aspects of our mind. We can choose any or all forms as we like. Ultimately it is a pointer to the Formless Truth called God.
Mantras cause positive vibrations in our body and mind and thus purify us.
It is good to light a lamp as our most vulnerable senses (eyes) get fixed on the light. When the eyes get fixed, mind gets fixed automatically.
