Pranamam Swamiji, As per Hindu belief, there is birth after death. But, we are doing “Prithudarpanam” for our mother, father etc who left this world for every year. In our holy book also, Bhagavan says that there is birth after death subject to some conditions. Then, why we are doing such “Prithudarpanam ” every year. If they had some birth after death i n other shapes what is the use of it. Is there any incident to believe that one who is not doing Prithudarpanam will be punished.

If you respect your departed ones, you can just show your gratitude and respect .There is nothing wrong in doing “tharpanam”.
Understand, it is not for the departed but for ourselves to feel the respect and love.
