After death, does a soul wait for its living relatives to do karma for its eternal salvation? If the soul is in a continued process of refining itself, does the after death ceremonies hold any importance for the soul? It may help the relatives to come nto terms with the passing awayof the person and handle their grief, but is not the soul once free of maya, above all these things?
