I have been watching your program on the Asianet for quite some time and on a few occasions had felt like writing this to you. However over the last few days I decided to write at last. This is about certain comments you make during the discourse. The comments you made recently about the inmates of Oolampara and Kuthiravattom. It was quite unfortunate. I am a psychiatrist. Such comments should not have come from a learned person like you. Then you went on to comment on actresses, about their make- up etc. It is a profession. They earn a living by it. Who are we to criticize them? However the most important and I think the most damaging in the long term will be the comments about ‘Us’ and Them’. Please edit your discourses before broadcasting them in a public platform like Asianet. I feel one can convey the universal message of the Vedanta without criticizing and comparing other religions. I request you to be considerate of others- of other professions, religions and other institutions like mental hospitals. I am sorry to write a letter like this. Thank you, Subhalakshmi.
