There is no alphabet “el” in sanskrit then why swamyjee pronounce like that?

In sancrit “thu” is pronounced as “el”.
I was brought up with the background of Kerala’s traditional usage of Sanskrit, where “el” is used for “thu”.
So please follow the verses according to your choice.
