Respected Swamiji, I am a housewife and my husband works for a multinational company. I prefer to be a home maker and involve myself in day to day household activities.I do my entire work chanting nama japams…I also read bhagavad gita daily…. My problem is my mind gets distracted and hurt when my own relatives and friends say that i am wasting my time sitting inside the house. They are all office-goers and want me to do the same. they say only office goers get self respect and dignity in society. I get hurt when they say that i prefer to lead a life like a maid servant. I am confused swamiji….please tell me am i leading a wrong way of life?

Dear Gita ji
Today your Question has a relevance in the society. Many women those who are doing only household activities, they feel that they are wasting their time by doing only household activities. Now, it is not the work that make you perfect; but your attitude makes the difference. The Society is not concerned about the attitude. Hence, they exhaust their life for others. According to Bhagavatham, Lord Krishna says what ever you do keep a smile and keep happiness in your mind and with a smiling face you should accept all the comments of others(Kaayena vaacha Mansedriyeva, bhudhyatmana ……..Narayanayethi samarpayami). When you compare yourself with others you will degrade yourself. So try to develop a strong mind with full of satisfaction and feeling of the presence of the beloved God. When your friends earn money you earn God Himself. Nobody can defeat you. One day your smiling face will give so much peace to your so called criticizing friends. So never degrade yourself. With full of God”s Love, proceed with your present life.
