In some temples they still insist that males should not wear pants.only dhothi but and no shirt and banyan.for females the restrictions are further relaxed by allowing selwar kamez.why?

Those times panst was not there, so people followed certain culture.
Later on, it became a custom, now it became a rule.
People who never study Scriptures or the words of Krishna and Rama, foolishly remain at the level of customs.
