Namaste, I am married and we have a daughter. She is 20 months old now and we are settled in USA. Both my husband and I are working fulltime. Currently my mother in law is here to help us and look after my daughter during the day time. After she goes to India, my parents will be coming to help us for few months. We will be sending our daughter to pre-school next year around March/April. Here are my concerns: I feel like, I am not spending much time with my daughter. I am planning to find a part time job instead of full time position. But my friends and my husband telling me that it is not a good decision since the job market is very competitive and also the cost of leaving is very high. Other than that my current company benefits are very good and this is one of the top companies in US. My husband is asking me that why are you not thinking about your carrier goals and in US all my friends and cousins are going to work fulltime and they are also raising their kids by sending them to day care for 10 hrs daily. They all are saying that Kids will get adjust in 2- 3 months. I can’t make a decision that what is better for me and my family. Also I knew that her childhood days will not come back that whatever I am missing now is the most valuable days for both of us. Any guidance from you is greatly appreciated. With Prayers Sree

Dear Vidhyaji,
It so true that some time we are in a dilemma to take an appropriate decision.
That doesn’t mean that there is no solution for the problem.
Actually I can only give some suggestions, you have to discover the real solution.
When you have two priorities, that job and your daughter both can not be treated equally.
If you understand that the purpose life is not only to earn money but also to feel happiness and togetherness, if you value this more than money then you have to opt for a temporary job.
Because you get only few years with your child, as she grows older, her mind will be more attached to many things.
Another important point is, if you are leaving the job only to take care then also you may regret later if your daughter disagree with your views when she grows up.
If you are leaving the permanent job, then spend your time with your child not only for caring for her comfort, but also teach her Slokas and Bhajans.
Once you help her to develop divine thoughts and energy, she will be ever great full to you for your guidance.
It is not for mere caring, it is for developing a positive strong personalty in your daughter that you have to scarifies.
Only blessed mothers get such wisdom, others are only biological mothers.
I call them so unfortunate because unfortunate children alone get such mothers.
Ask your self, is your daughter unfortunate? Introspect and take a wise decision.
HariOm!
