This is not really a spiritual doubt, but I still need ur advice on it Swamiji … I am expecting a baby in a few months time … I would like to do a little bit of preparation for the baby’s arrival, like buying a cradle and some other essential stuff, but elders in the family say that it is in-auspicious to buy such things for the baby, before it is born …. I am confused. Is it really so ? Is there any truth in such beliefs ? Kindly advice …

Dear Jyothi,
Yes, there is some other truth in the elders’ words, but not as they know.
When you are carrying, your concentration should be on the mind of the child.
When you think always about the comfort of the child, your mind will influence the child.
So, when child grows up he/she will irritate you for getting more comfort.
These preparatory things will come at that time; you don’t to worry about it now.
Sing bhajans, keerthans, read Gita, Ramayan, do japam and meditation.
You can see in future that even without telling, the child will behave or follow these positive qualities.
So what you alone can do, you must do it.
What others can do, don’t waste your mind for that.
My blessings and prayers are with you.
May you transform the child into a most divine child like Prahlada .
