Respected Swamiji, Earlier I had asked a Question–What is the purpose of creation.I got your reply also.I may please be permitted to explain what led me to ask that.Various species are seen in the world which include the Human being also.All are put to various types of miseries while some are gifted to lead a happy life.Human beings are endowed with the power of discimination.Happiness and sorrow are attributed to the Karma of each individual or jivi.The effect of Karma in the past lives are carried forward to the present Janma it is said and the results are experienced by the Jivi.All these has happened only because the ENERGY expanded.If there was no such expansion we would not have been there to experience the misery or otherwise. These factors are haunding me to ask the question on the purpose of creation. I am 68 yrs old and tries to surrender at the lotus feet of the Almighty. Dear Lakshminarayanan,
It is not the action and the result, but the attitude towards both that causes misery. Regarding creation, it is all the development or manifestation of the mind! Every thing is created first in the mental plane and then at the physical plane. Similarly, expansion of energy or creation is the manifestation of the BIG or Universal Mind!
Our scriptures call it the ‘Leela’ of Bhagavan as it is beyond the human intellect to grasp! Vedanta teachers say that from the perspective of Consciousness, there is no creation or destruction as energy can not be created or destroyed. If you look from an individual’s perspective there is creation and destruction in this world of forms and names (at physical level). For example, Gold can not be created or destroyed, but the ornaments made from gold can be created and destroyed.
That is, a bangle or chain can be created or destroyed, but the gold remains as it is.
