Pranam Swamiji, Generally, we all recite Lalitha Sahasranama and Vishnu Sahasranama on all occasions. But Shiva Sahasranama recital is only rare. Why is it so? Is there any particular day or occasion to chant Shiva Sahasranama? There are two versions of Shiva sahasranama; one in Linga Purana ( Lord Krishna taught to Sage Markandeya) and the other which occurs in Anushasanika Parva of Mahabharata. Which version we should follow ?

Dear Komalanji,
It is Good reciting many Sahasranamam, but it is a waste of energy if you recite this with the thought that they are all different from your inner conscious energy.
I mean, before you recite ask “why am I reciting this?”.
Then ask “who is and where is God?”.
Once you are clear then you can recite as many sahasranamam as you like. That is, Nama Japam should integrate your mind into the SUPREME ONE (Truth), not divide into many fragments of facts or texts.
