The story of Chitrakethu appears in the sixth Canto of Srimad Bhagavatham.
Please read Pandit Gopalan Nairji’s book.

The message is that the dead son’s soul teaches him that we are not mere mortal bodies bound by relations, but immortal Self that is bound by nothing.
